How to Prep for The New Year
A new year can be daunting so we have created a list of suggestions to help you prepare for 2023.
Declutter Your Space
Clean out your closet, junk drawer, or other parts of your home that may need simplifying. This will allow you to have a clear head space to reflect, dream, and set goals for 2023.
Create a Yearly Review
Reflect back on 2022 by going through photos, digital calendars or physical planners to help you remember things you did, places you explored, or events you attended. This is a great opportunity to write out the lessons that you learned in tough times or through a friend’s experience. Use this time to forgive yourself and others to provide for a fresh start going into the next year. If you are a Spotify user, play your Spotify Wrapped playlist to help you reflect; nothing can bring memories back like music.
Create a Mood Board for 2023
This is a great visual tool to inspire you and give you motivation and hope for the next season. If you make this digitally, we recommend using Canva or even a simple board on Pinterest. You can also make a physical mood board by printing out images and clippings from magazines. It can be a mix of photos, places, people, things, or even quotes, textures, and colors that you see for yourself this next year.
Write Out Your Goals
You can separate the goals into categories like health, relational, financial, and spiritual. Remember to write out goals that are realistic and attainable. Share your achievable goals with someone close to you so that they can keep you accountable.
Don’t Forget to Dream
A goal requires great focus and attention where a dream allows you to dream! A goal has a cost where a dream is free. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the busyness of life that we forget to dream and don’t know what our dreams are. Dreaming is inspiring and motivating; it can give us a sense of purpose.
Another year has almost come and gone, and it’s time to celebrate everything that happened in 2022. It wasn’t perfect, but I think many can agree that it’s been an improvement as life has gotten closer to the normalcy that we all remember before the pandemic. For this and other positive reasons, we raise our glasses! Cheers!
