Creating Company Culture & an Engaged Team

Welcome to Roys Digital Media’s blog, where we are thrilled to share our knowledge and expertise of the digital marketing industry with you each week. This week, we will be talking about two essential tips when it comes to growing a successful business: building an engaged team and creating a company culture.

Building an engaged team is all about focusing on your employee’s strengths and interests - and don’t assume they know what their strengths are! It is on you as a business owner to help your employees identify where their strengths lie by offering them encouragement and positive reinforcement in those areas. According to Gallup, focusing on employees’ strengths leads to increased engagement, productivity, a better quality of life for employees, and an overall improved company. Teams that focus on working based on their strengths have 12.5% greater productivity. Here at RDM, one of our biggest strengths as a team is daily, consistent communication. Every day, we start off with a team meeting over Zoom to connect on schedules and our tasks for the day. This helps keep everyone accountable and on the same page for the day. Plus, it allows us all to see each other’s faces every morning!

Along with an engaged team, now more than ever, the work culture is shifting and it is crucial that your employees feel supported and valued in a positive work environment. Building a healthy company culture is truly essential to the long-term success of your business. Here are some ways we have developed ours:

  • Hybrid and remote models of work

  • Collaborative work environment

  • Emphasis on employee wellness

  • Transparent communication between executives and employees

  • Consistent feedback and encouragement

  • Providing tailored opportunities for employees based on their goals and interests

  • Quarterly employee surveys

  • Valuing fun and excitement alongside hardwork and dedication

We hope these tips on company culture and building an engaged team inspire you to incorporate them into your business. Stay turned for more next week! In the meantime, click the links below to follow us on social media!  Xo, the Roys Digital Media team
